Built Different Project

This space is about truth—the struggle, the wins, the rebuilds, and the mindset it takes to keep showing up.

Who I Am

I’m a US Army veteran, a former federal IT specialist, a strength sports enthusiast, and a queer person navigating life with intention, grit, and truth. My story isn’t polished—it’s lived. Early mornings, heavy lifts, hard lessons, and the kind of self-reflection most people are too scared to do.

Still Rising

I’m a thinker. I’m a builder. I’m a man in progress.

I’ve battled through mental health struggles, the identity shifts that come with life after the military, and the quiet chaos of rebuilding yourself when the structure falls away.

Strength sports gave me a way to channel the noise—a discipline that grounded me when everything else felt uncertain. Over time, I’ve come to see growth as more than just physical—it’s been a full-spectrum evolution. Mind, body, identity, and purpose. Still building. Still learning. Still rising.

Why I Built This

Built Different Project is where I document that process. It’s about the pursuit of strength—physical, mental, emotional—and connecting with others doing the same. This blog is for the ones who wake up early, train hard, and still take time to ask why. For the ones who’ve faced adversity and came out with perspective, not just scars.

“Lift heavy. Think deep. Live true.”

If you’re about pushing limits, reflecting deeply, and living authentically—welcome home. You’re built different too.
